Issue #12: Children

With this issue, Memewar creates an idea of "childhood" that encompasses some less than traditional connotations. The relationship and interactions between pupil/instructor and child/adult are illuminated through Connor Mentiply's "Grade 7 Poetry Unit," Cara Kauhane's "Why We Don't Sit Down for Dinner," and James Sackett Jr.'s "Juvenile Interruption." With Dr. Polukoooshko's "Aren't You Glad You Live Where You Do?" and Aida Zilelian's "Red Riding Hood," traditional fairy tale values are thrown out the window and replaced with innovative perspectives on the genre. Memories and nostalgia of childhood, good and bad, are also explored.
